4. (a)  compare how and why two programmes were scheduled on different channels.

The BBC originally commissioned both programmes Miranda on BBC2 and bad education on BBC three. Miranda was produced by nerys Evans and Emma strain that each did different series and bad education was produced by pippa brown. The audience these programmes are aimed at are from teenagers to about 25 as bad education is set in a school and teenagers will relate to the things that go on but Miranda is also aimed at this age as a lot of the jokes that is made teenagers would understand and older would relate to her situation as she is single and her mother is trying to get her a partner. The time that the programmes are on at relates to the comedy that is in each of the programmes as a lot of the jokes are rude or racist and mainly based on stereotypes and children would not understand and be able to watch it due to language. Miranda was on at 8:30 on a Monday or a Wednesday and bad education as on at 10pm on a Tuesday. Miranda is not on after the watershed as it is more main stream and is not seen as rude because it doesn't use transgressive humor. The audience of both programmes are a mix of males and females as the humor in it is made for both genders to enjoy.
